We wanted to conduct case studies with our learners in order to get a better insight of the apprenticeship experience from the perspective of the people who are in training with us. We’ve had some fantastic feedback from our learners about our courses, tutors and experience with SCCU, so we would like to share it with you.

Apprenticeship course and level: Marketing Executive Level 4

Tell us a bit about your apprenticeship. What do you like best about it?

I genuinely can’t fault this course, each day I am learning something new, which keeps me engaged. I love how creative you can get with content and learning the back end of the website.

How did you find your course and why did it appeal to you?

I stumbled across it on social media, I never really thought about going into this. But it kept playing on my mind seeing different campaigns on social media, TV, emails etc and thinking I’d love to do that. It appealed to me because of the creativity side of it all. I love creating content, writing blogs and thinking of new and engaging campaigns to do.

Why did you pick SCCU to take your apprenticeship through?

I picked SCCU because they make me feel so comfortable, they support me 100%. If I’m unsure on something I know my tutor is only a phone call away. They break down each topic well making my tasks so much clearer to complete.

How does your tutor support you?

Kat supports me 100%. I can’t fault her in the slightest. If I’m stuck on a topic, she will break it down for me or explain it in a different way for me to understand. It doesn’t matter what time of day it is, she’s there. She pushes me to reach my full potential and I can’t thank her enough.

How has your apprenticeship benefited you?

My apprenticeship has benefited me massively. It is helping me reach my dream job. It has given me a focus and something to strive for.

Would you say the apprenticeship has benefited your personal development?

It has made me so much more confident, and it makes me believe in myself more. The course is difficult at times, but I know it’s possible to complete the tasks. The apprenticeship has benefited my personal development as I’ve gained so much knowledge with regards to websites, social media, and using the telephone.

Also, this apprenticeship has given me some once in a lifetime experiences, pushing me to the max, such as doing a 160ft bungee jump!

How are SCCU different?

SCCU are so different to other businesses as it’s not just questions you must answer, it’s not just by the textbook. Each day, they are finding new ways to keep me engaged; that could be by using photoshop to help with an assignment, going on the radio, watching videos etc. They use all different learning techniques.

How do you feel about the future?

Do you feel you have a plan and have been supported by SCCU? Thanks to SCCU, I have a clear goal point. I know what I want to achieve and SCCU are helping and guiding me with each step.

What would you say to anyone considering an apprenticeship?

DO IT! Honestly, I don’t understand why people don’t do it. You get the same qualification you would get if you were to go to university but you don’t get that awful debt. But if you do an apprenticeship you gain real life work experience as well as your qualification, this way you learn so much more.
